Sentinel Athletics Embroidered Crewneck
A Gildan 18000 crewneck — classic unisex, 8 oz, with a ribbed collar, cuffs and waistband, brushed soft on the inside and no side seams. Heavy enough to carry a stitched mark without the fabric drawing up around it, which is the part cheaper sweatshirts get wrong. In Dark Heather, Sport Grey, White, Black and Ash, S through 5XL.
Sentinel is stitched, not printed — a heavy varsity script with a long swash tail sweeping under it and Athletics set into the tail in the same hand. Thread has a weight ink doesn't. It catches the light at an angle, it has an edge you can find with a thumb without looking, and it won't crack or lift the way a print eventually can, because there is nothing sitting on the surface to lift. It is the difference between a sweatshirt that says the school and one that belongs to it.
Spangdahlem is a school where the roster gets rebuilt every year. Somebody's family arrives in August and somebody else's leaves in March, and the team is whoever is here. This is the piece that survives the move — the one that comes out of the box in the next place and still means the same thing.
